9A-13 Kings Cross Road and 2A-2D Craigend Street, 1934

The Harvard Flats stood at the corner of Kings Cross Road and Craigend Street (back when these streets met).  This photo is from the City of Sydney online archives.

The dark building to the left, on Kings Cross Road, is Moonbi Flats (15-19 Kings Cross Road)

Plans also exist for a flat and shop building on this corner site in the CoS online archive. The exterior looks a little different in these plans.

This wasn't the only block of flats in Kings Cross called Harvard. The other one, still there, is in Kellett Way.

Another photo from the same series in the City of Sydney online archives shows the other side of Kings Cross Road:

The taller building behind with the Dunlop Tyres sign is Francis Hall, 16-20 Kings Cross Road, which still stands. The little street on the left is Penny's Lane.  The buildings in between are gone - their loss seems to predate the 1969 resumptions and seems linked to the Kingsgate Hotel development on Darlinghurst Road instead. This area is currently the site of a hotel (Hotel Larmont) and office building with the address 2-14 Kings Cross Road.
